As though someone has bottled the grist: the smoky malt is in its most dissolvable and sugary form. Vanillas and hearty, busy spices pad in the gaps; f23 excellent oak counter play ensures a light traede heaviness pins down the fightier phenols; b23,5 at the best of times this distillery thinks it is planted in the Highlands of Scottland producing, as it does, one of the most Scottish of the mainland Europeanwhiskies. It appears now to have removed itself to Islay – through it doesn´t appear to have picked up the inherent saltiness on the way. Even so, another malty treat from Ralf Hauer – this time peated. t23,5 ah, da haben wir es……! Als ob jemand den Schrot in Flaschen abgefüllt hätte: Das rauchige Malz ist in seiner löslichsten und zuckerhaltigsten Form. Vanille und herzhafte, vollmundige Gewürze füllen die Lücken.
f23 exzellentes Eichengegenspiel sorgt dafür, dass eine leichte Sirupschwere die flüchtigeren Phenole festhält.
b23,5 bestenfalls denkt diese Destillerie, dass sie in den Highlands von Schottland gepflanzt ist und produziert damit einen der schottischsten Whiskys auf dem europäischen Festland. Sie scheint sich nun auf Islay zurückgezogen zu haben – obwohl sie die ihr innewohnende Salzigkeit auf dem Weg nicht aufgenommen zu haben scheint. Dennoch ein weiterer malziger Leckerbissen von Ralf Hauer – diesmal getorft.
